Loving Lincoln

Lincoln has finally arrived, and I am head over heals, over the moon, completely in love with him. He is a perfect gift from heaven, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I'm very emotional these days, and if I look at him too long I start crying.

I am so grateful and humbled by the opportunity to be his mother. When I think about the world today and all of unknowns that lie ahead for him in his new little life I feel scared and overwhelmed. He is so innocent. I just keep thinking take it one day at a time and do my best, and it will all be okay.

On a lighter note....my sister Wendy is an amazing blogger and has posted a fabulous post about the details and pictures of the big event, so I'm just going to refer you all to that and promise to blog more regularly in the weeks to come. Click Here for her blog.

Here are a few more recent pics though. I LOVE YOU LINCOLN!!!!!!

I am Loved.

This week I have felt so loved and special. I truly have the GREATEST mom, sisters, and friends in the world. On Thursday I got a huge five foot tall box delivered to my work and inside was a ton of presents from my mom for my nursery. She hand-made all of baby Harris's bedding including a bumper, blanket, bed skirt and a bunch of burp rags! She also included a stuffed monkey, glass piggy, cool funky rug and multiple bed sheets. Is she not amazing? It really made me more excited than I ever have been for this baby to arrive. I love all of it!

Then on Friday one of my very best friends Angie threw me a baby shower where I was visited by so many wonderful friends and showered with fabulous gifts. Thanks to all of my friends who came and helped with food, and a special thanks to Angie for hosting the party and being so supportive through-out all of my pregnancy drama the past couple years. I love you Angie!

(Abby Warden made these fabulous, festive cup-cakes! She is so
talented in the kitchen. Thanks Abby!)
Wendy came down for the party too. She is the third person who I owe a huge thank you to! She spent the weekend completely helping me organize, shop and plan for Baby Harris. She was such a big help and we got so much done. It was nice to have her tackle Babies 'R Us with me and give me advice on what I really need and don't need. I feel much more prepared, and it's all because of her. She has also been such a huge emotional support over the past couple years. And thanks to Ali and Lisa for the baby monitor! I love you both and felt your love from afar.

Wendy's gift was super thoughtful. She gave me her 9 "must haves" for a baby, all personalized with notes and explanations of why the particular product is the best.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful week of love and support.

We never got any standing profile pics this weekend to show how big I've gotten since last time, so Wendy took this today....32 weeks!

Pregapottamus

I finally took some more prego pics for those of you who have been asking for them. I went and visited Wendy over the weekend and we had some fun. She has been taking a photography class, and she practiced her skills on me. I think she's getting pretty good. Anyway, here I am...27 weeks pregnant! This may be all you get unless I find my camera charger, so enjoy!

Baby's First Pictures

Wow...I just taught myself to scan pictures into the computer, change the file type, and get them on my blog and it only took me 3 hours. Mom, I hope you enjoy these because that definitely took longer than I thought! So anyway, here's the first of many photo shoots of our little, nameless guy. I was hoping to include a picture of me as well because I'm much bigger since my last pregnant pic, but our camera battery is dead and I can't find the charger!! As soon as I find it I'll post my growing belly.

Happy Birthday and a Baby Boy!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Mom I love you so much and hope you have a fabulous birthday. You are so supportive and wonderful and I am so glad you are mine. I can't imagine my life with out you. You've taught me so much and are truly one of my very best friends. Happy, Happy Birthday!!

In other news, and for those of you who haven't already heard from my sister's blog which is much more impressive and more frequently visited than mine....I'm having a boy!!! Ryan and I are so happy he's healthy and growing. I'll admit, I'm a little thrown off because my mom and sister convinced me it was going to be a girl, but I'm thrilled non the less. Ryan is super excited. I've got to get to work, but I'll try and upload some of our first pictures of the little guy when I have more time.

P.S. I'm 20 weeks today! Half way there!

Biggest Disappointment Ever

I understand that everyone is human and makes mistakes. But telling your pregnancy obsessed, high-risk patient she'll be finding out the gender of her baby and have an extensive ultra-sound at her next appointment and then not doing it is one mistake that is not acceptable! That's exactly what happened today. Ryan skipped important school lectures so we could go to the appointment that we've been counting down to all month only to wait an hour to have a five minute appointment listening to the heartbeat. Although I am ecstatic that there is still a heartbeat, I am heart broken that we didn't have the appointment I was promised.

My doctor apologized for "misleading us to think this was that appointment because it is most definitely the next appointment at 20 weeks." With Ryan as my witness, she did not mislead, she misspoke. I even questioned her about it afterward because 17 weeks seemed too early to find out the gender, but she reassured me it was today's appointment.

So it looks like I have another month of waiting before I get a picture and a gender.

Prom, Pregnant and Back to Blonde

Yesterday was so much fun!! My friend Robin got married, and then our 3rd annual Medical school Prom was last night. The wedding was beautiful and the Prom was a blast. Good times in Charlottesville!!

.

So I'm 17 weeks pregnant now and am so excited!!!! Things seem to be going well this time and I couldn't be happier about it. Tomorrow I find out the gender so stay tuned to find out. My mom and Wendy are convinced it's a girl. I'll be happy with either. Less than 24 hours to go.
